Ghana and Nigeria not exactly ‘neighbor’s as we don’t share borders but we are soo into each other and don’t seem to be apart in anyway. This togetherness has brought about collaborations and also competitions as we compete in all areas from Sports to Music as to who is the best; even a child knows coming up against a Nigerian is nothing to joke with.
With music been the order of the day in our recent world Ghana and Nigeria both boast of uncountable musicians who have made a mark for themselves domestically and across all over the world. Now comes the question; which country has the biggest performers? Ghana or Naija? Come the 1st of July, 2011, history will be made as the biggest Nigerian artistes meet Ghana’s finest for a mega jam that promises to rock the DOME of the Accra International Conference Centre. This groundbreaking event has been aptly christened, the “GHANA MEETS NAIJA” Concert.
Don’t get it wrong this event is not a battle but rather going to showcase talents and masterpiece from both countries’ to show appreciation. This event features perhaps the biggest line-up of acts performing on one stage from both Ghana and Nigeria; the Nigerian acts confirmed thus far to perform include, superstars such as J-Martins{whose hit joint “Cool Temper” was one of the biggest street and club bangers of 2010}, 9ice { famous for his hit joints “Gongo Aso, Street Credibility and many others}, Wande Coal{the Mo Hits act whose been getting Africa jamming to hits such as “Bumper to Bumper” “Who born the Maga” and many others} and 2Face{whose repertoire of back to back hit cuts has made him of the biggest acts in GH and Africa}.
Facing off the Naija invasion will be Ghana’s biggest performers of the moment, Castro {Winner of Hiplife song of the year 2010}, VIP {2010 Artistes of the Year}, Sarkodie {2009 Artiste of the Year}, Ruff n Smooth {2009 CITY PEOPLE AWARDS- Artistes of the Year}, 4×4, D-Cryme, R2Bees, Stay Jay and many others to be announced in coming weeks.
Just be on the lookout as we fuel up, put bits and pieces together in setting up the stage till the 1st July as several other artistes will be announced for the concert. Fasten your seat belt for undoubtedly a must witnessed historical musical concert of the year.
